Book review

In Gray Raiders, Green Seas we learn more of Rory, Southern-born and Irish-raised; bold, irreverent, with his cynicism tempered by humor, and Tobias, born into slavery in the Caribbean; courageous, contemplative and careful not to expect too much from life. They overcome the bias of a few fellow officers by their courage and resourcefulness and experience assaults on coastal fortifications, a ride with Confederate cavalryman, John Mosby, the brilliant capture of a Confederate blockade runner, a daring rescue of a lost infantry company, and the pivotal Battle of Hampton Roads.

The Critics say:
"Magically blends vivid characters, rollicking adventure and fascinating historical insights" - Dennis Heck, Founding President, Television of Washington

"Evocative, meticulously-drawn and riveting story line. Must-read work of Civil War fiction!" - Charles Fowler, President, Puget Sound Maritime Historical Association

"Exciting battle scenes made authentic with fantastic attention to detail!" - The Bookmonger - in the Olympian Newspaper
